What it is
An investment residence permit is for people who have invested at least 300,000 US dollars in the Georgian economy: in real estate, a business or a share in a company. It is issued for up to 5 years, and the holder does not need a work permit. We arrange an audit valuation of the investment, prepare the documents and accompany you at every stage.
The investment residence permit is provided for by the Law of Georgia on the Legal Status of Aliens and Stateless Persons. The investment must be officially confirmed: by purchase agreements, documents on contributions to a company's capital, and an auditor's valuation report.
The 300,000 dollars can be made up of several assets — for example, the value of several apartments plus a share in a business. What matters is that the investment is documented and valued.
Who this is for
- Investors who have invested $300,000 or more in Georgia.
- Owners of several properties with a combined value of $300,000 or more.
- Owners and founders of Georgian companies.
- People who want a long-term residence permit and a path to permanent residence.
What counts as an investment
Investment means contributions to the Georgian economy: buying real estate, contributing to a company's share capital, acquiring a share or a business. The investment must be made legally and confirmed by documents. The value is determined by an auditor — it is the auditor's report that the agency bases its decision on.
Advantages of an investment residence permit
- Valid for up to 5 years.
- No work permit needed.
- A high approval rate when the documents are prepared correctly.
- After five years — the option to apply for permanent residence.
- Your family can obtain residence permits via family reunification.
Investment residence permit or real estate residence permit
If you have bought property worth more than $150,000, you can get a short-term residence permit via real estate — it is issued for a year with extensions. With an investment of $300,000 or more, an investment residence permit is the better option: it lasts longer and does not need extending every year. We will compare the options and tell you which suits you.
What to do after the permit is approved
After approval you need to obtain the resident ID card (binadroba) and register at a residential address — that is, temporary address registration (propiska) in Georgia. If you do not own a home, the owner's consent is required. We help with both the registration and the card.
